HVAC System Smell
HVAC System Smell
I recently purchased a 2006 G35 Sedan and I think the previous owner must have puked in the HVAC system somehow, because that is what it smells like. I replaced the cabin filter yesterday and it still smells horrible when the heat or A/C comes on. Has anyone ever sprayed Lysol or something else into the intake to see if it would help with the smell or maybe take care of any bacteria or otherwise in the duct work? Anyone have any other suggestions?
I need to check the drain from the A/C system and make sure it isn't plugged, does anyone know where that is or where to find it?
Thanks in advance -

you can use lysol if need be because it does kill germs, we use a product called frigi-fresh. Just turn your a/c on max cold on high and spray it from the outside of the car through the vent by the passenger side wiper blade. Spray a considerable amount to make sure you get it all the way through the system...
No signs of rodents on the filter. It was dirty, but fine other than that. Although I did notice the same smell from the filter I changed out. After a couple days with the new filter it is definetly better, however I still want to spray either some Lysol or Frigi-Fresh just to make sure.
Thanks for the help.
