Working for an Infiniti dealership doesn't mean I'm not affected by the frigg'n excessive OEM brake wear and dust on my 04' G35X. Being as **** as I am about the appearance and performance of my car, I wasn't about to wait for warranty replacement of my stock pads and rotors. The primary reason, as most know, for the premature destruction of the 'POS' OME stuff is the stock pads. Even though it was on my dime and time, I replaced the stock pads the first week I had the car. I used Stillen Metal Matrix Fr. and Rr. pads..............WHAT A GD DIFFERENCE! There is, for the most part, a TOTAL absence of brake dust AND a beautiful even wear to the rotors with NO sacrificing of stopping power! The only thing I notice is a little less 'grabbyness' in under 5mph braking....woohoo. So, for a little over a $100 bucks I saved 10-12,000 miles of irritation/being pissed off, and about an hour of my time. Peace of mind for a $100+ buck....step up Squeeky...LOL

pedal feels, for the most part, the same. Wanna split hairs....you could say not quite as abrupt..."grabby" at low speed and slightly softer through the entire range of speed. Actually feels like you have more application control.
EBC pads
I put EBC greenstuff pads on my X the day I got it home from the dealer. No dust, great braking, and no low-end grabbiness. I had the same dust problems on an Audi A4; I first tried metallic pads, but they have a very low friction factor below 30 degrees F. Unless you "ride" the brakes for 30 seconds, on very cold days, you may not have brakes the first time you try to stop. That's when I found the EBC pads. I had two sets for over 80,000 miles and 11,000 miles on the G35x. BTW, you only have to replace the fronts.

I have 10400 miles on my 04 sedan and the brakes are fine. However, the dust buildup on the front rims is excessive. I'll wait awhile and when they need replacing, if Infiniti doesn't do it for free with the 3 yr 36000 mile brake service bulletin, then maybe aftermarket for me also.
Im getting ready to replace my fronts in the next week or so. Where did you all get the EBC greenstuff pads from? How much?
Im way over the warranty period (51K miles) and dont want to pay $300+ bucks to have them replaced. I'll also have to check the wear on the rotors. May just swap those out too if they have worn down. I had them replaced once under warranty so I may be ok.
Thanks in advance for the info. I appreciate it

I recommend Axxis Deluxe pads formerly PBR Deluxe. They are highly recommended for ALL BMWS from 7 series to 3 series, I used them on my 97 540 6spd. When I bought the car, I literally had to wash the wheels every 2-3 days, more often than I washed the car its self. I put on Axxis Deluxe pads ft+rear and I once went almost 2 MONTHS without washing the wheels and the brake dust was barely noticeable. The deluxes got rid of the brake dust 100% I will be buying these again for my 2004.5 sedan 6mt from www.zeckhausen.com GREAT service knows more than you ever want to know about brakes and braking!!

My concern, as addressed by myself and others, was not just the dust, but rather the excessive wear as well. I did not want to compromise the G's excellant braking for only cosmetic concerns, but wanted the best of both worlds (my cake and stopping too). As I found out....it is possible to stop on a dime....often ......and do so cleanly. lol.JBX

$67 for the pads and $186 for the EBC rotors (which I'll put on when the 1st set of EBC pads wear out). LBT was a pleasure to deal with.
