Took the G out of town and got 2 - 9" long primer deep scratches on rear bumper!

Ok need help. I did get the intial "kiss" from this third party's bumper out with scratch-x. I do want to know how difficult this will be to paint on my own. The scratch is length-wise on both parallel ridges present on the rear right bumper. I am thinking of buying the custom made spray can from NAPA and wet sanding this thing down with a couple of coats of primer.

Paint shop is asking around 3-4 hundred...

Ideas???

Car is Diamond Graphite (Silverstone???) WV2 paint code...

DO I NEED TO Primer?

I would primer but I also would bring it in for the 300 bucks.

Not worth messing with IMO

^^ agreed, you won't be happy with the results from a rattle can. the scratches will probably need to be filled first too.

Interesting thing is that the scratches when you run your finger on them... are not deep at all... Its all smooth...

maybe it is paint from the other car? have you tried the scratch-x on these marks too?

Our paint is notorious for being hard to match. I'd just take it to the bodyshop and have them do it right.

You do the body work (if needed) then take it to a shop and have them spray. Not a painter or body work but maybe the body is what is costing the most
