armrest help

hey guys im a new g35 owner and have found this site very useful over the past few weeks, so thank you. I bought a 2006 g35x a few weeks ago and love it but today the armrest on my driver door collapsed a bit. Whatever it is made of somehow gave in and now im afraid the leather is going to rip. Has anyone else had this problem and know how to fix it? or does anyone know where to but a new armrest (if possible)? thanks!

Yes, I have that problem right now and the leather has ripped already..
The only way it can be fixed is having the armrest pulled out.. the part that u rest your arm on needs to be reenforced with some type of hard plastic or wood.. then the leather has to be reapplied over the armrest. It needs to be done by an upholstery shop. The place I got a quote from wants 200 just to redo the armrest. The guy tells me the whole door panel has to come off. Takes about a day to have fixed.

Finally an advantage to being left handed!

I would say try to take the door panel off and see if you can fix it yourself before paying someone else.
It's worth a shot. Just be careful not to rip anything
