I'm new here and saying hi to you all
I just picked up my new sedan few days ago and this thing is a beauty... no regret choosing it over the new TL
but I have few questions right now... what was the mileage when you picked up your new car at delivery? mine had 40km(25mile) on the odometer when I picked it up and it seemed a little bit high to me... second Q, there is a plug or something on my front lower grill which I don't see on other 05 cars, what is that?
Thanks,
Steven

My car had 11km on it cause they took it to get tinted and I think they always have a couple of kliks on them when they get here. I made them ship my car from another location rather than drive it. My last car a 02 Maxima had 25 km on it.The plug on the lower front grill is standard for us Canucks ,it is for the block heater, which you probably don't need unless the temps dip down like they did here to -25-30C. It has a little cap on it that pulls off. The only other thing I can think of is the body colored square insert that is behind the front liscense plate, which is used to cover the hole where the front tow hook screws in.
Have fun with your new car. Wayne

Hi Steven
I got mine yesterday with 8 miles. It now has 45 miles.
If you are talking bout the little square plug between your lower air ducts, that's there for towing purposes.

Hi SLD2000,
Your mileage seems low compared to the 91 miles that were on my G35X when I picked it up in March. With 12k+ miles now on the clock, worrying about those first 90 or so seems rather pointless.
I don't think much can spoil a new ownership experience within the first hundred miles. Preownership miles tend to be trivial.
Regarding the plug. I don't have any experience with this equipment.

Mine was 51 miles because my car has driven to my dealer from another dealer, otherwise it should only has 6 miles.
I want the car now so I don't mind they drove it over.
Congrat on your new ride.

You also picked up a black/black just like mines. Good luck keeping it clean. I am having such a hard time getting it to look showroom condition. The last time I own a new black car was so longgggggggggg ago that I forgot it's so hard to maintain one...hehe.Originally Posted by SLD2000

My 2004 had 7 miles on it when I picked it up. The paperwork showed that the car had 5 miles on it when they took possesion, so the 2 miles must have been when they put gas in it.

Welcome aboard Steven,
Congrats on the new ride. 40 clicks isn't too bad for delivery mileage. It probably had to come from another closeby dealer.
As Gee35X said, that plug will come in handy on cold mornings, and save some gas by prewarming the engine a little.
Enjoy and post some pics when you get a chance.

Welcome to the G club.
Enjoy the ride. Mine had 40k as well so no worries.
Yeah the plug is a block heater which likely won't get much use in Vancouver. As someone said it's standard fare here in Canada.

hey guys, thanx for the warm welcome here and sorry for the late reply... I talked to the sales who I bought the car from, he said my car was driven from the port to dealership 'n that's the reason for the 40km on the odo... btw is it possible to remove the block heater? I think it's useless here in Vancouver and I just dun like the look of it... The G is my 1st black color car, I already can tell it requires more effort to keep clean... bought some Klasse AIO 'n Pinnacle Souveran liquid wax already... waiting for the good weather days now
Cheers
