looking for a little help

I'm a soon to be new member of the infiniti owners. I am looking at buying a 2003 G35 coupe with 60,000 miles. Are there any common issues I should look for when I am test driving it? I test drove an '04 sedan, rear wheel drive and it had a right rear wheel bearing going out. Typical or just chance?

I would look for any past or open recalls on edmunds.com... I don't think there are any, though...Read their Consumer Discussions page... where owners talk about problems they have had with their cars. You'll find out pretty quick what the common problems are for that model, year and make. I would also have it checked out by an independent mechanic and be sure to have a diagnostics performed along with the inspection. You might be surprised by what it reveals... Also look up any TSBs on the car. G35s get a pretty solid rating on reliability from edmunds... '04s and newer, anyway. With 03's, there's seems to be a possible issue with heating and AC. You may also go through rotors and brakes like there's no tomorrow. That's oftentimes a common complaint by consumers. Bose stereo systems were pretty much declared a disaster. They also had a problem with a bushing of some type... it would fail... unfortunately I cannot think of the one in question. Lastly, everything in an Infiniti is $1000 to repair... need a new xenon headlight? $1000. Need a new ashtray? $1000. Need new brakes? $1000. Although I may be exaggerating... it's not by much, though. They're fun cars to drive. And the coupes are very cool looking. Not the best gas mileage. And they're "touchy and sensitive" as my mechanic told me. Good luck with your purchase.
