what would give a better performance boost would be a faster car that even came with a dual clutch trans. Even better would be that you would probably spend less on a GTR or something similar than you would spend on a trans and custom fabricating a bellhousing, flywheel, input shaft, not to mention all the framework to hold it in place and connect it to the rest of your driveline. And then there is all the wiring and programming to get the two computers working together; one for your car and engine and one for the trans. Hell it would be easier to take the entire driveline from a GT-R in than it would be to just get the trans in, and without actually guesstimating hours of machining work I would say it was still cheaper. So to recap... its not even close to worth it. And if money is no object, I hope you have enough sense to buy something like a GT-R and mod that to be different.

Not to mention the gear ratios... They would be all wrong.

But most of the time a dsg transmission on the street is mated to a turbo engine to keep the car in boost to help go around a track faster. No blow off, no loss of boost.

Your car doesn't have that problem. What would help you more would be a cvt, and those would be easier cheaper and prob less of a headache to put it.

Think about it, a transmission that would keep your car at peak hp and tq the whole way around a tack

I think a valve body upgrade will be just as good and cheaper one, the black G has the upgrade and chirps up to third.

I have just had a great idea that will give you great performance and not cost an arm and a leg (unless you crash).

I'll sell you my motorcycle for $3,000.

100 HP. 430 lbs. 0-60 just under 3 seconds. 0-100 right at 6 seconds. Top speed is only 145 ish, but that's fast enough.

I agree with the above poster about upgrading your valve body. It will make your transmission shift a little faster and a bit more responsive. I remembered I had posted in one of the valve body threads that upgrading the valve body did not make any difference. And boy was I wrong. After taking a while to figure out how the new valve body works, it did appear that the GTM valve body upgrade cured the lag in 2nd-3rd gear shift on my automatic transmission. Finding a reputable tuner to install the valve body is also very important.

I think the OP is over-estimating the benefits of a DSG box, the only benefits over a 6sp is the quick gear changes. A valve body upgrade or 6sp swap and spending a couple of $k on engine upgrades and you will easily out perform a DSG swap alone, and at a tiny fraction of the price.
