Interior Question

Since I just picked up my car on Wednesday, I'll be spending the weekend getting her all clean and shiny.

My question on the interior is what is leather and what is not? I know the seats are leather and the doors appear to be all leather, but how about the dash. I'm assuming the hard part is vinyl.

My interior plans are to vacuum and clean the carpets, then use Lexol cleaner to clean all the leather. I'll follow with Lexol conditioner to finish up the leather. My other assumption is that Lexol probably shouldn't be used on hard, non-leather surfaces? I typically use Armor-all on the plastic parts of my other vehicles.

Suggestions?

Meguiar's is the best in my opinion. Always leaves a nice shine

NEVER NEVER NEVER use Armor All on anythinggggg.. anything they make is complete crap. For anything that isn't leather in the interior I use this.

I just don't use it on the seats because people always complain about the greasyness or whatever and it doesn't feel right when I sit on it lol.
For plastic/vinyl protection you don't want something that will leave a shine because that will usually attract dust and you'll end up having to re-clean it sooner than you'll want to.

That's just a protectant though so you'll have to clean it with something first. Meguair's is usually fine and 303 makes a cleaner too.

I am nor sure if armor all has changed, but when you use it your plastic becomes dependent in it. If you stop using it, your dash becomes dry and cracks. I have never used anything but water to clean the dash on my last 2 cars and they have not cracked. In the summer it gets to 120 with low humidity where I work and my car sits outside there.

Never had a problem with AA, Mine sits in the South Texas Sun 8 hours a day. Never had a crack in it anywhere. I use the "low shine" stuff.

Only the seating area is leather and it's not leather that you think. I has a fabric backing with a foam sandwich. The actual leather is really thin. I use Zymol cleaner and cream on my seats twice a year. So far (6yrs) no cracks or dry outs yet.
