Replica Rays

I've always liked the rays that came on the coupes and found a site that sells replica rays really cheap. Just wondering if anyone here has bought these or know anything about the quality of the wheels they sell.

Thanks

I've seen them go for $700 a set with tires before on craigslist. Might as well get the real deal.

I've been looking for the real thing but seems like everything I've found has some road rash and I'd really prefer to find really clean ones. These replicas are only available in 18" and I'd prefer 19s or 20s. I know the real thing are 19s so I might have to keep looking.

Thanks

I was surprised to see 19" coupe Rays come down so much since the last time I was looking for wheels. They used to be anywhere from $900-1100 with tires. Now I see them going for $600-900.

Might as well just go with some sedan cast 18s

Get the real deal.. on a sedan 19 inch rays are money!

Even if you were to get some with rash you could just fix the up yourself for less than 50 bucks.

That's extremely cheap.. I wouldn't trust the build quality on those.

Those are a horrid knock-off, they don't even look the same.

That, and as everyone mentioned, a used set is cheap these days. get a used set, have them re-finished, and you'll still be under $1000 probably.

those replicas will NOT be light weight either, so if you don't care about weight, get the 18" 05/06 rims that are the same in appearance. Even those will be lighter than these knock offs, and you can get them for the same price, they go super cheap.

These are NOT Ray's replica to be exact, instead they are just similar to 05/06 18" sport rims, a little wider and better offsets. The 05/06 18" sport rims are not made by Ray's. The coupe OEM 19" Ray's are forged and probably the same weight as these 18's. Just get the real ones.

Thanks for the feedback. I do prefer the look of the oe rays and didn't think about weight. Thanks for the link to some rays in miami. I'm in NC so I may be able to work something out there. Wish I could find a deal like that a little closer but if they are that clean, thats a good deal.

I am also worried about build quality on those replica wheels. Don't want to hit a pothole with those and bend the wheel.

I know quite a few guys on a local F-body forum that run replica wheels from that particular company. Other than the weight (a bit on the heavy side), they have had no issues with build quality or durability. I actually like the look of those replicas, but went a different direction and got FX35 18's just because I wanted a budget-friendly OEM wheel.

Buy used, but the wheels are not the expensive part. Replacement tires are the expensive part.

That is the other side of this is the price of the 19" tires are a good bit more expensive. The 18" are a good $50 cheaper per tire. Would really like to see those replicas on a G35 just to make sure I like them. Need to look into the weight difference between those and the rays.
