G35 Sedan

Well this is my first Post and hope there is some one out here that recognizes this problem. Our 2003 Infiniti G35 Sedan was vandalized last Thursday evening. The rear passenger glass/window was busted out.....since $500 deductible was too high to use my auto insurance, I footed the $195 bill to pay for a new window install. Thought that was not too awfully bad....? But whenever the tech finished the install, the window would travel to the top then come back down about 4-5 inches. Long story short, there was NO reset button/switch ever put on the motor/regulator at the factory seemingly to adjust the travel.

I telephoned the Infiniti of Columbus Dealership service department this morning only to learn from the service guy there, on early '03's, there was not a reset switch put on them. To adjust the travel, he said, was to set in the back seat with power on, run the window up manually and hold switch up for 5 seconds. If that didn't reset it, then buy a new regulator!!! C'mon now!! window gets busted out and now since THEY never put a reset switch on the $&)@!!! motor....We have to buy for THEIR error in engineering?

Oh well.....Venting is over...sorry guys....If anyone on here has ANY clue on what to do...OTHER than buying a new regulator, please respond....

Wow! $500 deductible for glass? You should change your policy. I got $0 deductible and wasn't that much more.

Our windows have a computer that runs the regulator and motor you need to take it to the dealer and have them reprogram it. I had the same problem and every two months or so the motor would burn out. After the second motor we took it to the dealer they reprogram the computer for the window and no more problem for over two years now. Its something you can't do at home and its seems like other shops can't either I took mine to the shop three times and they couldn't fix it so they gave up and had me take it to the dealer to fix it right. They told me there are about 7 computers total on our car that runs the windows and even the sun roof.
