Noise and vibration from 40-60mph

I just got a 2005 g35x sedan. I noticed that there is a slight vibration and noise that seems to come from the rear of the car. It seems to occur mostly in the 40-60mph range. Its a rotational noise with a vibration that goes in tune with the noise. Speeding up as I speed up. It's almost like driving on a washboard road. It seems to stop once I get over 60 or so.

I checked the tread on the tires and I didn't see any uneven wear. I noticed that the rear driverside wheel was very hot. The rim was hot to the touch, all other wheels were cool.

Anyone have any ideas?

I have the same exact thing and I'm also running thicker tires. I also get a pressure sensor light going above 50 but that might just be the tires.

Could it possibly mean my rotors are warped?

Don't wheel bearings usually make a whining or grinding noise pretty much all the time when they go bad? With this I havent noticed any kind of noise going slow, just the slight bumpy vibration.

Although I guess that would cause the wheel to heat up wouldn't it? The friction of bad bearings and all.

Sounds like it could be a bad tire try moving the tire to the front and see if the noise is still in the back. If so then you would know its not the tire or balancing issue.

I will try moving the wheel. I just now took it out and noticed that this vibration doesnt actually stop, it just goes faster or slower depending on speed. I also noticed that on the driver side rear wheel (the one that gets hot and where the noise seems to come from) the rotors are significantly more rusted and there seems to be more brake dust built up than the other wheels. (just washed the car 3 days ago so the rest of the wheels have none really)

You can also check and see if that brake caliper is not releasing complete which will cause the rotors to get very hot try spinning the tire while the car is jacked up and see if it spins easy or not. Also make sure your parking brake is not on, and if it doesn't spin easy it could be a stuck brake caliper.

I jacked it up, sure enough the wheel is hard to move, the brake is clamped down onto it, parking brake was not on. I pressed it down and released it again just in case.

Then its your brake caliper get a 14mm socket and remove it and get a C-clamp and compress the brake cylinder all the way in and reinstall on the car and see if that fixes it. Sometimes they get stuck and doing that fixes the problem and if that doesn't work you will have to get a new brake caliper, but that usually works, and if it does I will go ahead and bleed the whole brake system.

When the speed is slow, the bearing noise is not loud enough to be heard. Of course the wheel area gets hot because your bearing is failing! Don't let the bearing seize up on you, then it would be expensive to get towed to a dealer to get it fixed!
