Help!!! I have a drive shaft carriage bearing (u joint) that's failing. A shop told me that they can replace the joint but Infiniti said they only advise replacing the entire drive shaft. Does anybody on here have any experience with replacing just the u joint and can you advise?

 

Check online to see if you can find the part for sale without having to buy the whole driveshaft. I personally have no experience with this but I know that there are a lot of instances of dealers trying to "upsell" customers unnecessary services and parts they don't need
