^Agreed on the SH-AWD. Another car my parents passed up...

I still dig the TL though. It has some good pep to its step. And the Type-S even more so. Plus the quad tips are oh so sexy IMO.

270 actually. I'm not getting rid of my G just for those reasons, I'm just ready for something different. There are some bonuses to the TL like a better interior, more technology, stock stainless exhaust, better mileage and just more refined.

I also drove a TSX but the dead spot went from 3000rpm to 5000rpm until the VTEC kicked in.

I am pretty sure that the stock TL has 258BHP for that generation and the Type-S is at 286BHP. The newer base model TL comes with 280BHP and the SH-AWD comes in a 305BHP flavor.

You are right but in 2004 and 2005 the TL had 270 hp and in 2006 it was revised to 258 hp. The car above is a 2005.

I like the older body style of TL.

There is not enough beer available to make the new body style attractive to me.

The TL AWD is also still a FWD car at heart, so the G will excel in driving dynamics, but most people will never notice the difference.

Those are nice cars.

You don't really notice the torque steer unless turning and under full acceleration.

Haha thanks for the advice but I've done some extensive research both online and by contacting seasoned mechanics and I've determined that the issues are nothing to lose sleep over. The older TL's did have some major transmission problems but in '04 they were almost fixed. By 2005, the transmission problems were pretty much nonexistent. People complain on Acurazine because they're paranoid and undereducated about the problems.

Thanks for the nice feedback

I do remember doing this research before I bought my G back in 2010.

Any TL prior to '04 is a ticking time bomb for the tranny.

I like the TL but something about getting a Japanese assembled vehicle associated with a premium brand sat better with me than a NAM assembled vehicle of a premium brand.

I gave serious thought to the TSX too for that reason.....

PFT glad you listened to everyone's feedback!!!!!

Fix your suspension and rotors. Do you know what car maintenance is? Or do you sell cars once they hit 25k miles?

I SOLD MY G!!!
I'm looking at a different TL now. It's navy blue on gray with 86,000 miles. It's at an Acura dealership and they're asking $13,500. It's been serviced its entire life but they offered me a free, non-transferrable, lifetime powertrain warranty! I'm going to try to get the price down to $12,500.

nice choice on car. the only thing you have to worry about is doing a timing belt at around 100k miles.

Only thing I envy on those cars are the interior lighingand the wide fender arches. Hate the flat fenders on the G
