Why is the 03 so much better than the newer ones?
I love my 2004. I've had it for over 5 years and it's one of the few cars that I've owned that does EVERYTHING well. Quick enough to be fun, but doesn't guzzle gas like crazy (avg 450-470 a tank). Handsome car without going over the top (not a fan of the current 'crease craze' that most cars are plagued with). Plenty of space without feeling loafy and cumbersome. TONS of aftermarket support. Reliable as a cast iron stove. Any time I ever see another one on the road, I always give it a second look... even in stock form.
It reminds me a lot of an E32 or E38 7 series. Subtle with a little edge.
Yes, I know it's not an 03, but it's damn close.

They must not be pressing the gas pedal
Between the '04 and '05, The '05 is much more touchy and boisterous when it comes to performance, I can't tell if it's truly pulling harder or not but it definitely responds to, and picks up on throttle more than the 04. It seems like theres a slight hesitation before the power band on the 04.

Still driving my '05 MT sport sedan. I went to trade it in a couple of years ago and decided against the G37. It felt "boaty" and the accelerator felt disconnected from the throttle, if that makes any sense. It had more power but ...
