I believe it is like all the other G35 models it has the G-tube, if you want the Z-tube you have to get it yourself.

It doesn't need to be specifically the "ztube" (as long as it has a tube there similar to the z)but remember I am talking about the 2005 6 speed not 2004 or awd. I am wondering since it might be a possible other reason for infiniti to be able to say 298hp. If not than the Z tube should put it over 300HP at the crank right?

Wink

No...I don't own an 05' (read my signature)....BUT I DO SELL THEM,,,and, have access to over 375 new,in stock, Infiniti(s).....WHICH ....I checked (an 05' MT of couse) in order to verify my answer. As far as the HP rating...lol...it's smoke and mirrors my son. A little chip work brings it up "somewhat" ....BUT, without a gain in torque.....where ya go'in Sunshine? It makes good advertising/press copy, but so does Santa commin
ta town. Thank you very much, JBX has left the forum

Search for an Intake on www.ebay.com. Look specifically at the CHEAPEST intakes. There are some from a no-name company that sell the whole intake, but I think that the chrome tube part of it is the same as the Z-tube portion and could be used without any modification and it will look good too.

If the tube even adds 2hp or more, then you will have your 298+, I am still waiting to get one to see how much it helps.

Well considering there is no dyno proof and the rpm increase to 7100 then I am sure it will be putting out more HP power. There is no current ecu flash for 6speeds 2004 sedans I know of. Once out of 1st gear the the lower end tq wont matter if redlining each gear and keeping within the powerband which is after the variable intake kicks in. The dyno won't lie. So lets see what the dynos say but I would rather the 7100 fuel cut increase.

the difference is a lot, 4-5k range in 1st gear is weak, 2nd gear 4-5k is dramatically stronger, its a nice pull. Once shifting at 5k in 3rd gear I am speeding to much to try any higher gears on the streets.

I'm not saying that the "Z" tube doesn't help, because it's definately noticable (sound and power wise) from 4,000 rpm up. What I'm saying is that 298 hp is suspect being that is picked up by increasing your rpm limit by 500 without a proportional amount of torque gain.....Translation...."All brains and no brawn". Check out a thread by, I believe, DaveB from about a week agohttps://g35driver.com/forums/showthread.php?t=41253
