New Member Intro, Headlight and Camshaft PS questions
Hello all
I'm James.
I've been lurking around here for about a year and a half since I got my '03 G35 6MT Sedan (Desert Platinum) and have gotten some great help along the way.
I have two questions that I've searched around a bit for but can't seem to find the right posts that will help, as I'm sure these questions have been posed and answered before...
Headlight:
I recently broke the headlight lens cover and was looking at ordering a new HL assembly. This breeds two questions: 1) Since I cannot afford an OEM headlight, what are the disadvantages with getting a "replacement OE comparable" one? 2) I have found the DIY instructions for changing the headlight for the coupe, but is there a different strategy for the sedan?
Camshaft Position Sensor:
I also found the DIY for the camshaft position sensor for the coupe.. (I'm sure this is a horribly bad question for this forum
) but are sensors located in the same spot on the sedan? I was looking around with a flashlight last night and couldn't seem to spot them, but that could be from the intake manifold being in the way. Either way, a question I need answered. haha. And lastly, what is the correct part number for Bank 1 and Bank 2?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Oh, and I suppose these may help...

1. The Oem headlight would be the best to go for as far as quality, you'll get what you pay for on eBay.
2. Camshaft position sensors are on the back of your valve cover in the exact same spot as the coupes and 350z. I believe the passenger side one is the one that has an angled plug and the drivers side one is the one that is simply at a 90 degree angle. The DIY thread for the coupes should straighten that out.
Depending on the code you get from an obd2 scan will tell you which of the two sensors has gone out. I recently just had to do my passenger side one. But I can't remember the code.
