2006 G35 Sedan Midpipe Question...

Hey y'all, got a 06 Sedan.

Anyway, read multiple threads and still got one question I'm a little confused on. I do want to tweek the exhaust a lil bit based on reviews, sounds, and youtube clips.

For my sedan, I do plan on getting HKS axleback plus a midpipe from a coupe like what others said.

My question is, what year (or years) would I need to get a midpipe from a G35 coupe so it can fit with the y pipe and then from the hks axleback when that comes in...?

Like I said with the clips I have seen, I do want to go with that setup. Just need to figure out which years of the G35 coupe (if it matters) I can get the midpipe from. Thanks

Mike

As long as it's off a V35 I think you're good to go, so 03-07 (?). If I were you, though, I'd try the HKS with your current middy first -- it's pretty small and the HKS is straight through so you'll get quite a sound bump even without the coupe middy. It's the setup I currently run and IMO was not much different with the coupe middy (which can be hard to find).

Be prepared for some drone with the HKS. I ran it for a while with multiple combinations of y pipes and mid pipes and couldn't get the drone to go away. Finally sold it and got a Motordyne exhaust.

Any g35 coupe midpipe will fit(2003-2007). You should also look at the HR Y-pipes, those are also a direct fit from a g37, HR 350z, 370z, and HR g35.

FYI, if you get a midpipe from a Z you will need about an 8" extention for it to bolt up. The Z mids are shorter than the Gs.
