Noob question: tighten sway bar end points, transmission question
Noob question: tighten sway bar end points, transmission question
So I just bought a 2003 g35 sedan and The car seems to run and drive great but I do notice some irritating little problems. I noticed that:
When I start the car in the morning I hear a knock while turning over, also when I initially drive off I hear a rattling noise between 1st and 2nd gear but only on the initial takeoff
Speakers cut in and out ( only the left side works, right side cuts in and out, back speakers I haven't even heard yet!)
I hear some squeaking, clunking, and cranking noises coming from the suspension when I go over bumps especially going into my driveway. (The ride does feel a little heavy or tough for a luxury car!)
Wen I'm driving on the freeway it feels as if the front or the back of the car sways a little
The windshield wipers stutter or tweak out a little bit especially on slower rotations
I notice a little lag from when I tap the gas pedal and acceleration
I just took the car to a shop for a used car inspection and the guy said the cars main components are good but that he noticed that the front and back sway bar bushings are going bad and that whoever had the car before me didn't use the right transmission fluid which could be the reasons for some of the suspension noises and delay in shifting. I was wondering if I could tighten the sway bar in the meantime until I can save for the parts and coil overs.
I know this probably seems like a dumb post but I'd like to hear what all you veterans think about my situation and what it could be or what I should do. I always wanted a G and definitely like the car so far. it just sucks that these little noises and minor problems keep me from being totally happy with my ride. Thank in advance for any feedback.

Why did you get an inspection after you bought the car? That something that you should have done before purchasing.
As far as squeeks, rattles, etc, you bought a 10 year old car. Its to be expected.
You cant just "tighten the sway bar". I dont want to discourage you, but it sounds like you have a lot of small maintenance items to take care of before moving onto modifications.
There are alot of good threads and useful information if you search. As far as the transmission, changing the trans fluid is easier than changing your oil.
