05 G35 Auto Shift **** Question

Hey folks...

I was installing an FM Modulator to the back of the radio in my '05 Sedan and after putting it back together it seems the button on the shifter **** won't push down the button that releases the shifter out of park. Not sure if I broke something inside the **** or what, but I can take the **** off an push the button down manually and everything shifts fine. Could it be anything other than the button on the ****?

Assuming it needs a new ****, I was looking at these from Riverside on EBay. They list it as 07-08 G35, but I called and the guy swears it will work for an '05. Anyone have any experience with this? The local dealer has the original **** for over $250, which is ridiculous.

Thanks!

Thanks. And it turns out, after looking through the forums, that the blue insert had come off of the shift lever. I had never noticed it before but saw it in pictures around here. I dug around for it and found it inside the console assembly. Problem solved!
