Unhappy exhaust question

exhaust only comes out of one of the pipes coming out of the muffler. This is wierd. I picked up a 2004 G35 sedan last week and i swear it was coming out of both pipes, but not now.
anyone else experience this?

Infiniti designed it that way. At low idle, only one of the tail pipes is open.
At higher RPMs, both open up for more power. Infiniti states this on their web site.
I upgraded to the HKS rear section exhaust, both pipes are open all the
time.
