Hi Everyone,

Long story short I just found out the ball joint on my SPC upper control arm is junk and needs to be replaced. The part # is 721204, (replacement ball joint for the 72125 Adjustable Upper Control Arms). My problem is that I need to drive from Massachusetts to Florida this Friday so that I can begin a new job on the following Tuesday, May 8th.

I cannot find anyone who has the part in stock, I have tried THMotorsports, Summit Racing and UltraRev who were all recommended from SPC but none of them have the part in stock and they can't guarantee delivery by thursday. My mechanic and good friend tried opening an account with SPC so they would sell the part directly to him but they wanted $5000 up front and a minimum guarantee of $5000 of inventory purchased each year to open the account so that is not going to happen.

I was wondering if anyone knew of another company that may carry this part or possibly even a vendor on the site. I know I am going to have to pay a ridiculous amount of money for shipping and that is not a problem at all.

You could go to the junk yard and get some stock upper control arms???? Then when you are set in Florida buy a new SPC arm

 

Good thinking there, Ive been in such a panic that honestly didn't even cross my mind. If i leave the shims from the SPC kit in there I should only be running about -2 degrees of camber even with the stock arms which is not ideal but will at least be safe.
I am waiting on a call back this morning from a shop in the area that may have one in stock according to SPC. My only other plan was to buy the entire camber kit again with the arms and shims and just take the ball joint off and replace it when somebody actually has them in stock and try to sell the kit either on the forum or on eBay. Overnight shipping is going to be almost as much as the arms but I'm pretty much out of other options.

Parts.com sells OEM parts. I have ordered products from them before. I am sure they can overnight to you if you are willing to pay for it. Hope this helps.
