jamming cd's
 

anyone ever heard of a problem with the cd's jamming in the disc changer on the 03 radio? mine are stuck right now and it's making a clicking noise everytime i start the car.

Known issue with the '03. Do a search.

This happened to me a year, or so ago. If you have burned CD's, with lables that you attached, they can heat up, causing the label to jam the unit. The only way to fix it is to make an appt. with your dealer, so that they can order a new head unit. They normally do not have these in stock, so you may be without your CD player for a few weeks. Mine was covered under warranty.

I had the same problem last week. I had a cd error message display. The dealer replaced the head unit. It works fine now.

well i got a 03 and i dont have that prob sorry man...

It actually can happen with just about any CD, with any label. The film labels definitely help the problem along, though. Sometimes if you press 1-2-4-2-3, etc. it will jam. I plan on purposefully jamming mine right before 30,000 just so I can dodge that bullet.

Just a word of caution FWIW - - a friend has a Pathfinder. His CD changer got jammed and the dealer made him pay for the replacement. The dealer said his use of bootleg CD caused the problem! It is not a definite warranty item but probably more of case by case.
