What I am getting at is that you probably don't have a serious coolant leak. You most likely have to bleed the coolant system because air got into it causing the messed up heating symptoms. It is very easy to bleed the system but if you have a tiny radiator leak (at the each crimped end) then you will have to fix that first otherwise you are wasting your time bleeding.

I would recommend not troubleshooting your heater core. Never heard of a G or Z that needed to get that replaced.

Also to answer whether or not I've had recent coolant work done. I just recently purchased it from an Infiniti dealer with 55k miles.
