Looks really nice dyenboy and the rest that have done it. I ordered the 05 reverse last week, cant wait to get them. I have a valid reason (cough, cough this worked with my wife) for getting this mod. Couple months ago I went golfing with my father and afterwards he set his bag next to my car....and the bag proceeded to fall over and a clubhead banged off the drivers side reverse light making a 4" hairline crack. Thus my "valid excuse" for getting these. I will post pics and ease of install once it is done. Trust me....if I say its easy then it is really easy as I would screw up a two piece jigsaw puzzle.

I just installed my '05 reverse lights today. Super easy install, took me about 20 minutes. I'll post pics as soon as I can.

Hey, I have my 05' lights right now-(i just got them in the mail yesterday), and I called my local infiniti dealer and the service guy told me that they could not do the 04' reverse lights swap with the 05'. I was like-WTF!?? So, if it is easy to install, how can I do it myself-(without getting electrically shocked-hehe)?

2005 Reverse Light Install Instructions for the Sedan

Tools needed: Small straight slot screwdriver, 8mm wrench

1) Open the trunk.
2) Use the screwdriver to pop up the head and remove six of the plastic push bolts closest to the reverse lights.
3) Use the screwdriver to carefully pry off the emergency trunk release lever.
4) Use the screwdriver to carefully pry off the interior trunk handle used to close the trunk.
5) Pull back the trunk liner. You will not be able to remove the entire trunk liner, but you will have enough room to work.
6) Unplug the wires from the reverse lights. You will have to push in a small button on the white plastic part of the wire harness.
7) Use the 8mm wrench to remove the two nuts that hold each reverse light.
8) Remove the reverse light housing. You may have to use a little pressure as the foam seal may be stuck to the trunk.
9) Remove the gray part from the back of the old reverse light with a quarter turn. The bulb will be plugged in to it.
10) Install the bulb (with gray part) into the ’05 reverse light housing.
11) Install the ’05 reverse light assembly. Install the nuts and plug in the wire harness to the gray piece.
12) Re-install all six plastic push bolts, the trunk release lever and the trunk handle.

Viola, you have successfully installed a set of 2005 reverse lights into your tired old G! Have someone put your car in reverse and admire your work, but make sure you don’t get run over!

If anyone with the complete tail swap, or anyone with an '05 for that matter.... I want to see a pic at night with the tails lit up, pics with the brake lights on would be nice too. Considering a swap when I get my car back in 2 weeks. Thanks.

Hey Skeleton_Cru
Did your 05 reverse light housing not come with the bulb already installed? or did you just find it easier to remove the "grey" part on the back of the housing... the one attatched the bulb?

Just curious because my set came with the bulb. Just had to disconnect the housing.

Oh man, thanks a bunch Skeleton_Cru for the install directions. It only took like 15 minutes (me being a novice at car installation parts). The only part that I fell into a little trouble with was with unscrewing the bolts off of the old tails. But, it was nothing that a little elbow grease could not handle!
