HIDs

OK well my bulb went out on my 2006 X sedan today. I was thinking about just doing a full HID bulb and ballast swap for the Headlights and Fogs/HighBeams. Any suggestions on what you guys did ? i want to do a Super White which i believe was 5500k. Should i just keep it at 35 watt kits or should i just go for the 55 Watt kit and what is the correct Bulb for the headlights and fog/HighBeam ?
Thanks guys

DiodeDynamics.com carries the full HID kit for our cars. I went with the 6000k Xenon. Make sure you get the relay harness & that the fog/high beam bulb is a Bi-Xenon (if you want it all to be the same color). Install is plug and play.

How long have you had them and how is the quality? I've read that these HID kit's bulb will fluctuate and turn off and on sometimes.

I just swapped for vleds full change out (all bulbs) Went with the 6000K set, I love it, crisp white vs the stock color for sure. I hear good things about diode dynamics as well but just haven't personally used their products

ps. Retrofit quads is a great looking mod IMO

Stick with 5000K or lower or it will look blue/ricer and there is less output from a 5000K bulb than a 4200K bulb. All the kits are hit & miss....all off shore products are! If you're doing a retrofit (and I've done many), stick with OE parts (projectors, ballast & bulbs). That's the surest way to get the best setup. If you go aftermarket, you'll be changing bulbs and balllsts more often than you'd like. My $.02..........

From all the sites I've went to 6000k hid's are closer to sunlight. The light output is white but there is a bit of a blue hue when looking at your headlight. I had 6000k on an Acura coupe I once had and I loved them...I'm switching to 6000k in the near future.

Sunlight is 5600K at high noon, and drops as the sun sets. Our eyes are adapted to see best around this value, and don't really see blue that well. The further beyond 6000K you go, the "dimmer" the lights become because our eyes can't see blue colors that well.
