Window Closes then Reopens

I have done a search of this on the forum, but I did not find the answer.

When I close the window using the push button window, it closes all the way then reopens the window a quarter of the way. Is there any sort of way to fix this without removing the entire door panels?

Simple answer, no. Need to reset the window motor. Also some may say thats a sign of the motor going bad, for me that was true.

Need to reset the window motor.

Removing the door panel is VERY easy. All you need is 10 mins and you can perform the window reset procedure.

On the G37 coupe and sedan, roll the window all the way down. Once it is down manual up and once window is all the way up- hold the switch in manual up position for 5 seconds and let off. This will reset the auto up function on the 07-up sedans and 08-up coupes

I assume this fix will not work for an 05, so the door panel must come off?

Yes on the 03-06 sedan and 03-07 coupe the door panels must come off and there is a button on the window motor that has to be pressed while reset procedure is performed. Once door panel is off there is a sticker covering button up. Roll window all the way down, press and hold button and manual up on window switch. Once window is up, manual down on window switch. Once window is down, let off of switch then release button. Now auto up and everything should work like normal

Good info - I need to do this as well. My car got hit a while back and the body shop did not reset the window after repairing the door. I'm in the same boat as Vector - too damn cold to do anything with it now!

Spontaneous window action

My window would do that after I locked it up or i would come back out for lunch and it would be half way down. It was the rectofier in the motor control and the new motor cost about $150 and $50 to put it in. There was a good 15 minute you tube video on how to do it, but you know how that goes.
