Car is unstable if I turn left at high speeds

Hi there,

I own a 2003 G35 Sedan RWD, and recently the car started to have the following problem.

So I would be driving on a straight road with no bumps. Then the road slightly turns left, I am still going at a high speed (~90 kmph). When I start turning left with the road, the car doesn't stay smooth. It starts going wavy from the back, just like how fish swim. Kinda going zig-zag. It does that for a few seconds then it balances on the road again.

I do get the same issue when I am making left turns fast too.

I never have this problem when turning right, only when turning left.

It's almost summer time, and I wanna drive my G with VDC off and enjoy it. But this is scaring the **** out of me. I don't want the car to slip in the middle of the road and get totalled. Sometimes I feel like the car will lose control even with VDC turned ON.

Any ideas what the problem might be?

Either low or uneven tire pressures or your alignment is off. Check tire pressures first since that's cheap, then get your alignment checked. You may have hit a pothole and whacked it out of shape.

Sounds like you've broken a sway bar end link. I would get the whole suspension inspected.

I bought brand new tires about a month ago. But I think they are defected. After I changed the tires I started getting vibration in the gas pedal (like a phone's vibration.. Keeps going on and off at the same speed). I went back to the shop and they did the alignment+balancing again but the problem is still there.

The shop offered me a replacement.. So I'll see if the problems goes away after that.

I wouldn't be surprised. I do drive it Very rough sometimes.
If that part is broken, is it a serious issue? (Dangerous to drive with)

Is the stabilizer link the same as sway bar link?
Because that was replaced on my car 5 months ago. But the mechanics were all drunk when they did it (it was new years eve....)

Tomato, tomaato it's still a sway bar endlink. Get your G on a lift and check your suspension out! If everything is tight and intact next step w/b alignment...Gary

Yes. That is what autozone etc refer to it as.

My car is doing the same thing. I'm certain it's my alignment, but I'm going to get the car up in the air first and look at the rest of the suspension.

photodoc, where did you get your links from? Also, good to see someone from Cincy on here.

I just bought them from KOI. Advanced and auto zone had to order them and it was going to take a week. First time I have used KOI and I was impressed. They had it by noon the same day.

Where do you live in Cincy? I'm in Cold Spring right by NKU.

There's not much we can tell you from here. You need to get your car up on jackstands and take a peek underneath and see what's wrong. We could speculate all day, although saying that you had drunk people install suspension components recently might be abig clue.
