The few times that I have made it to 460 miles on a takthat was driving with the light on for about 40 miles or so. I drive about 90% Freeway was well. Most if the time I get about 410 to 430 miles between fill-ups. Again , that is with about 90% highway, with about 30% fo that being in rush-hour traffic. I average about 24 MPG most of the time.

g35john, how can you get 400-460???
I live in S cal too and with 60 hwy and 40 city, the best I can get is 360 miles. When I filled her up, it is up to around 18 gallon. So the best is around 20 mpg.

I can easily see how driving a lot of highway miles in a warm climate would get him such good MPG. On my last tank, I got 19 mpg which included a bit more highway miles (40%) this go around. I imagine if I did almost all highway, didn't have to be driving in 20-40 degree weather, or be dealing with winter gas, I could be seeing around 24-26mpg.

Try shifting at 2K RPM. or even 1.5K when the car is cold. Works for me everyday. At the rate Im putting miles on this car I need all the MPG I can get. Id go buy a Kia Rio if all I could get out of this thing was 18 MPG. I also use 87 octane when its cool out too. It knocks on 87 durring the warm/hot days. Also, dont tailgate, you will be supprised now much gas you can save when not having to use your brake and gas so much. Im going on 49K miles in about 15 months and the car is doing great for me.
