If you can hold tight for a few weeks, I may be able to get a sound bite or two after I install mine. I need to purchase some extra hardware to become a mod film director (firewire card and cable).

It will be my first time doing it so I hope I havent just bitten off more than I can chew

If you can, please do before and after in the same setting so it can be compared. I'm really looking into this option, but having recordings will help a lot. Thanks

Cool coupe midpipe

Installed midpipe about 2 weeks ago, nice sound plus no drone best
money spent so far nice aggressive sound without being overly ricey(aka honda like sounding) felt nice power increase nothing super but noticeable.
Just make sure to reset ecu it does make a difference.
I paid 120 from classifeds on forum and 30 install at my muffler shop took
less than 15 minutes for install.
p.s. just waiting for my AAM plenum spacer
to get here to see what it sounds like
and feels like!!!!!

No offence but resetting the ecu is not going to do anything for a midpipe install. Nothing that the ecu won't learn in short period of time.

Nate....No two clips will sound the same, and (just like a political poll) they can be made to come out whatever way the author chooses. The middy w/std. muffler will sound like a coupe, and w/a QUALITY after market end pipe a LITTLE louder ... deeper/more throaty. I had no idea until I did the mod. myself (as described in my above post). And,like a lotta mods., it's a crap shoot. Our tastes are different, and what you may like I may hate....no? Trying to make a move predicated on/off a computer sound bite is just as risky as just going for it.

did the installer have to modify the heat shield or anything else... or was it a straight bolt-on?

Cool coupe midpipe

No rubbing issues just a simple bolt on.
I just did the reset because my g was filling a little lazy my wife has
been driving it like old lady the last few weeks. The reset seems to
make it feel and shift a little more peppy!

Finally did the install today in about 30 min (taking my time).
I had no FRIGGIN idea our resonator were SO huge!

Anyways....I'm likin the sound ...very pleased. I took before and after clips but I dont think they will be worth pushing anyone over the edge to get one or not just by listening to them. Its exactly how everyone has described it...deeper rumble at around 2k rpm. I also noticed a difference in sound when doing some WOT runs today, so for me, it was an overall lower and upper rpm sound improvement....as well as a few pony's in the seat of my pants.

If anyone is looking for a large scale difference, this will not be for you. Its a suttle difference, which is what I was looking for. Although I am very interested in hearing how JustBrilliantX Stillen single pipe rear with the middy sounds

For me, it was worth time and money spent.

Oh yeah, the coupe middy resonator was touching the heat shield, so I took a large screwdriver and bent the shield up a bit so as not to touch the resonator and cause any rattling later........piece o cake install.

Dude, I thought you said the install was EASY? Sure! Easy if you don't mind bits of your innards busting out as you manually bend the exhaust with pure strength.

Thanks for the update. Does anyone know the dimensions of the stock coupe resonator? length? round dimensions? inlet openings?

Uh Yuh, Doogster.....I ripped myself open when I picked up the "POS" OEM sedan middy to throw it into the dumpster. I can only bench 380lbs without a spot ....LMFAO....JBX And if my purple haze maze of a memory serves me...The dimensions of the coupe middy resonator were 'ABOUT' 6" dia. X 16" long...JBX

Talking

OH yeah! I see I forgot to tell you about the shield Papa . Well, you found out on your own and remedied the situation. What I did was to just take my Dremmel tool with a cutting wheel underneath the car and cut out about a two inch section to make it look trick and finished...(just in case I get somebody under there that could care) LOL JBX has left the forum
