im planning a trip to move to ny because of work my g35x has been making a cluncking sound so I went to a shop and im told the whole front end is from a g35 not an x

and that's why my axles are rubbing and that I basically have no front axles the one that is there has bad bearings..the passenger side has no axle shaft only the ends...so I need new front axles and control arms what do I do the shop wants 2500.. effin crazy
im not sure if I should tackle this my self...will I need to press anything in?? I have a good set of tools and knowledge just never done something this big...

WTF? When did you buy this car? Are you sure it's really a G35x, and not a regular rear-wheel drive G35? The quickest way to know for sure is if you have the "SNOW" button on the lower right side of the dash. If it's really an X model, I'd go back to whoever you bought it from and try to find out what happened to the car previously.
Actually, about 6 months ago, a guy was on here who bought a G35x and discovered 2-3 months later he was missing one of the front CV axles.
Axles can be had at rockauto or autozone right now. They are about $100 each, but supply is limited. I just picked up a Duralast reman from AZ for $100. Not my first choice of supplier, but it's the only one available and the dealer is $600.
Wheel bearings are $99 from Rockauto.com, you will need to pull and press your old hubs or buy new hubs ($150 each).
As for control arms, limited resources on that. You are pretty much limited to the dealer for these.
Sucks having an X because AWD parts are tough to find
I would LOVE to see pics of this front end!

Man, don't do that to him. First of all most people don't even know the parts are different. Second, a new buyer could inspect it and again not know the parts are different and everything could look fine. Third, this is such a weird situation that I would say that he could have reasonably expected to have at least the right parts on the car.

thanks for the feed back guys... well I got the car about 6 months ago and the car had been fine till it started making noise...I did look at the car and I just didn't realize the missing axle on the passenger...every other side has one...yes it has the "snow" button next to the shifter.....im pist because the car fax said nothing of an accident but it must be that...the car was probably crashed and they half assed the car back on the road and well I got suckered in...believe me I test drove the **** outa the car and not once did I feel or hear anything that caught my attention...until now...
I can't tell you how much it pisses me off when people get something running just enough to sell it with the idea that its now "the other guys problem". So immoral. Sorry you gotta deal with that BS.

So you just need a passenger axle??
Rockauto.com has one for $100 core included (but you don't have a core to send back)
A1 Cardone 606282 is the PN for the front right axle (passenger side)
It's possible the axle is just missing and you don't need any control arms. On the control arm, if it's for the AWD model, you will see "4WD:" stamped on the frontside of the arm.
