Another 'car won't start' thread

Won't start with jump and all the lights and electronics do work. From reading up I see that it may be a problem with the ground wire, looks like it may be near the air box. Can someone tell me where the wire(s) are that I should be inspecting? The ones connecting to the battery all look fine. Details are yesterday i drove to work and noticed my PRND on my cluster were not showing at all, i did notice higher rpms too. Got to work and looked it up seeing it could be the batt going. Went back out to start it and it started weak. Tried it again, no start but did turn over a couple times. Then finally nothing, no turn just the cluster goes black then a tiny high pitch ringing from around the battery area? I just got this car a couple weeks ago so I don't know the history but do have a battery on hand just wanted to see if I could get some info within the next couple hours before replacing it.

If there's no corrosion on the terminal, you could also have corrosion on the battery cable, and it could go pretty far down. This happened to me, so i chopped it, got a new terminal, poured coke and scrubbed the cable as far down as i could, and no problems since.
I've never heard of a ground wire causing this.

the battery and the cables visually look corrosion free unfortunately i cannot see the full + cable. Still same start up with new battery, starting to think it's the starter.

I would check the voltage first with a multi tester. It should be 12V+- before starting. 12.8V+- while engine runs. If not, check the alternator. Second, check the resistance between start motor body <-> battery negative terminal. Third, check the resistance between start motor terminal(+) <-> battery positive terminal. If everything looks good but starter doesn't turn well, then I would suspect a starter relay.
