May the force be with you...

Along time ago, in a galaxy far far away....

I had a P10, and then a P11.... Which I loved both... Until a Sith Lord stole my P11 x-wing from me in a seriously sad accident. Feel free to dig into G20.net archives... I was a member there (still am I guess) for years...

My wife an I had a 1 year old little boy at the time, and the car was totaled. I always wanted a G35 Coupe, but with a little boy, and the wife and my plan to have another, that didn't make sense. So I got an ultra clean 2004 G35x, literally driven by a little old lady. Confirmed by Infiniti of Denver.

Hyperdrive 7 years later. I have an 8 year old Padawan and a 6 year old Padawan, and now I've been in that same sedan for 7 years........ I'm bored. But sadly I can't go get a new car, because life, house, bills, home upgrades, take precedent...

My 35x is still clean as hell. In fact, save for door dings from my own fornication, it's immaculate at only 74,000 miles on an 11 year old car.

After a long and boring Star Wars driven post (trailer just came out so I'm still stoked), I'm at a point where I can't get a new car, not that I want to, but the mod bug has got me, and I can afford mild changes.

My first and favorite.. suspension.

Looking for honest, tried and true (current) advice from 1st Gen g35x owners, or other members that know...

On my P11 I had multiple changes on suspension, but never coil overs. I went Tein S Tech, Eibach, and finally H&R Sport springs. All on KYB GR2s, with Koni bump stops. H&R won, hands down.

I loved the H&Rs with the GR2s and Koni's shortened stops, rode awesome...

I actually have the option to go with H&R Sports with GR2s (& Konis) on the X, but as of 6 years ago, there weren't coil over options like there are today...

Now I see Megan Racing (which I hears of, they were starting out back in my day), D2 which is obviously a player, and BC... All now catered to the 1st gen X'ers....

So, my question to you guys, do I go with what I know was awesome on my P11, H&R Sports on Gr2s with Knois, or trust a coil over system, at 2x the cost, given the reviews I read about blown shocks on these coil overs?? I don't know theses coil over brands that well, but I do know H&R ...

I'm installing myself and understand the logistics, but I'm looking for opinions. I'm not looking to slam the thing, just a healthy 2" drop and better handling....

Thanks in advance, and May the 4th be with you...

-Nick

PS: yes before you slash me with light sabers I read literally 50+ threads to find answers on multiple forums but got crap for recent opinions on a first gen 35Xs.. In one post the dude said he picked his brand because they were purple (D2?)... What the....
