How to remove the lower mesh on 2005 Sedan

How is the lower mesh removed on the front valence of a 2005? The two portions of black plastic mesh on each side. They gotta go and going to do a nice clean custom job. Just wanna get the heads up on the removal? I am thinking of a nice Stainless steel mesh (as is), custom paint it body color or chrome.

When I installed the stainless mesh on my '04,
I removed the bumper.

I didn't have any plastic mesh to remove for mine, but if you
remove the bumper you'll likely find it to be pretty
straight forward. Most likely some sort of clip fastener.
I think there is a DIY bumper removal around some where.
If you need more info let me know.

The front is different than yours. I have a 2005 with the two open portions on the lower part. There is black plastic there that I was hoping to take out easily without having to remove the bumper and save the stock mesh.

Hi,

I checked my 2005 Sedan ESM and the instructions only have one line about
removing the mesh. That is after you remove the bumper cover itself. So I
assume that if you remove the plastic underbody, you should be able to remove
the mesh easily.

I know the '05 is different;

JMO, but
I still think it will be easier to do with bumper skin off.

It only takes about 15 - 20 min to remove.
- some pop-clips up top & some screws in wheel wells
& then about 10 screws on underpan (which you will need to do anyway)
& then you'll have better access to fasten the new mesh
