3rd brake light
I recently bought my son a 2003 G35 and put about $1K into it to get it road worthy. I'm now told that the 3rd brake light will cost me $225 for an after market replacement. Is there anyway I can save my son the 1/4 of the invested money on a fvcking brake light so he can pass inspection?
I was worried a screwed up catalytic converter could cost my son his car, but a piece of **** bulb could...I spent $1k on the car....there is only so much I can "invest" in my son's car..
any help would make a young infiniti owner happy...thanks.

If you are anydecent with electronics, it's a small diode that burns out and can be desoldered and replaced.
Or you can buy a aftermarket LED strip and mount that instead. They are pretty cheap. I don't have links, but someone should be along shortly with the info.
ANd this is a pretty common issue with the brake lights.

Check this link out - I'll be doing this on my '06, as the 3rd brake light started flaking out recently. https://g35driver.com/forums/g35-sed...cheap-way.html
Hope that helps!

I bit the bullet and bought a Dorman (don't ask the price), it should be here tomorrow. With a 19 y.o. driving without it, it has pull over and ticket all over it, so I took the (possible) ticket money and gave it to Dorman/a1auto
