Buying a new HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY--Need HID but want Halogen.
Hello Fellow G35ers
I have a 2003 G35 Sedan. There is a lot of moisture buildup and haze in my headlights, so I'm shopping for new ones. I was told that my car came with stock HID models, and while shopping I have realized that almost all of the aftermarket Headlights are for the Halogen stock models. There are a few HID-but they are anywhere from 3-5xthe price.
Needless to say Id rather pay for Halogen headlight assembly and have heard that the assembly will fit, but the HID bulb stock will not fit.
What would the part number be for a HID light bulb that would fit into a Hallogen fit Headlight assembly with HID wiring?
Has anyone else out there done this?
Thanks in advance!!

If you use stock HID bulbs in the regular housing (don't be that guy) you just have to read the outside of the lens for a list of bulbs that are inside the headlamp.
If aftermarket, just order HID for the size bulb the aftermarket housing calls for.

Basically you are going to convert to halogen housings, and then through a HID retrofit kit in. None of your existing HID components will work, and the retrofit kits do glare. In fact, I've often felt the 2003 sedan headlights glared VERY badly with retrofit kits and were easy to tell on the road.
There will be a little bit of rewiring that needs to be done as you are basically gutting the stock HID system and rewiring in an aftermarket HID setup to fit the halogen housings.

What I would do in this case is to bake them open, clean it all out and clearcoat the inside and outside of the plastic lens and reseal using sealant around the light itself. This would save you tons of money. Even so, aftermarket headlights have questionable fitment. I would stay with your current headlights and refinish them.
