My 2005 G35x has a rough idle. Changed the air filter & cleaned the maf. When I went to clean the throttle body I discovered a hole in the hose between the air duct and the throttle body. I cannot locate a replacement hose or a part number. The hose seems to only be available with the air duct.





Does anyone know the part number for just the hose?

 

Are you talking about the rubber hose on the side of the intake tube? That's a PCV hose and you can get a silicone replacement from Z1 or anything suitable.

Or are you referring to the actual intake tube itself? You can put a Z tube in or search around here for someone selling their original.

 

if its the rubber intake hose. you have to get it from a junk yard or on the forums. the dealerships sell it as a complete assembly and they wont part it out. i got one from a junkyard for like 40.

 

It is the intake hose, not the PVC hose. Why do the make the simplest parts so difficult on this car?

 

They really should make those rubber COUPLERS available separately, these cars are getting older and cracks are bound to happen.

The simplest option is to just pick up an OEM 350Z intake tube. The couplers are built into the tube and not separate pieces like on the G35. This is typically referred to as a "z-tube" on the forums. However, Stillen sells something called a z-tube as well, but it re-uses the couplers, which won't work for you since yours are torn. So make sure you get and OEM part.

Another option is to visit a junk yard. G35, FX35, and I think M35 all have the same engine/intake setup to you would be okay to pull a part off those.

 

the part number for that air duct is different between the g's, m's, and fx's. it may still work but the part number is not the same for these three models of cars. just go ahead and fix the entire issue by swapping out the z-tube off the 350z. z1motorsports sells them new and you have the used options like junkyards or ebay

 

If you want a cheap fix you can probably put some black Gorilla duct tape. Home Depot also sells this rubber flexible tape stuff that sticks to itself. I used that on my Audi when I had to cut open the inner tie rod boots to swap them out. Then sealed them back up using the stuff from Home Depot for like 10 bucks.
