Exhaust Help/Suggestions

I have a 2004 G35x sedan and I am going to replace the midpipe and muffler. From what I have read it looks like I can use the mid from 03-06 coupe. Any suggestions for a muffler or just suggestions in general to get the best sound (coupe/FX) type out of my sedan. Also I would be interested in any available parts for my job if anybody has them or knows anyone who does. Thanks!

If you are wanting to try and stay close to the coupe or FX type of sound then keep your stock muffler as long as it is in good condition. The Y pipe and the mid pipe will bring out more of the sound you are looking for and will be a little louder without being too loud or causing drone. Keep in mind though that your sedan will still not sound like the coupe (not sure about FX) because of the difference in design of the exhaust.

If you're on a budget, the Bosal Brospeed muffler from Rockauto fits perfectly and sounds good. I installed one on my X along with a used coupe midpipe and am happy with the combo.

The Dynomax VT muffler is another option that won't cost too much. From what I've heard, this muffler is quiet at idle and wide open when you need it.
