AC belt change

So I bought the car without a AC belt on. So I went to put a new one on and the nut is stripped on the pulley. Is there anyway around this?

The nut is stripped or the treads are stripped?? If the threads are stripped you could most likely re-tap them or have someone re-tap them for you. If the nut is stripped you either need to find the best locking pliers you have or risk hammering an old socket on the nut. Or pay your mechanic to do it and sit back and enjoy your weekend

Well, that explains why there's no belt.

Is this the nut for the idler pulley? I'd go ahead and order a replacement pulley and swap it out. You can get the current one loose with some vice grips on the nut.
