Welding drivers seat bracket.

Hi,
My drivers seat is broken. Looks like a bracket is broken and the seat tilts backwards whenever I hit the gas. I have seen some stuff about airbags coming out. Would it be a big deal if I disconnected battery and wiring and took seat out at work and welded it at work? All the controls work so I don't think it's worth buying a new seat when I can weld this one.

Make sure it's a quality welding job and I see no problem with doing it.

Drivers seat rails warping/breaking was a common problem for the 1st gen sedan. I had mine fixed with the beefed up version that came out to replace the factory rails. That was done under warranty way back in the day though. You probably can order the updated rails from a dealer and replace it yourself if you want to retain all the OEM functionality.
