Compression rod options

Hi everyone, my 03 sedan is creaking, squeaking, and rattling. Also, it has a pretty rough steering wheel vibration, I think it's time for new compression rods.

I had a few questions, I know that OEM is usually best in these kind of scenarios. However, I was curious if there were any good aftermarket options. To anyone who has replaced their compression rods did you have to do the bushings at the same time, and did you DIY or take it a shop? I read the DIY compression rod thread and it does not seem too difficult but I would like to hear some of your experiences.

The rear suspension seems to have some rattling as well, AFAIK there is no compression rod in the rear, correct? I am assuming it would be worn control arm bushings in the rear?

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Mevotech is prob the only company making Comp rods.

Under $50 each on Rockauto.com. If you google search, there is usually a 5% discount code as well

Here's a suggestion, before you start throwing parts ($$) at your ride find out what's causing the issues you mentioned! Locate an independent brake/alignment shop in your area, have them check out your suspension! Chances are you have more than just worn compression rods....Gary

Thank you for the replies.

I'm just preparing to replace them as it's an older car with no history of them being replaced. I was working for an Infiniti dealer (miss that discount) at the time I initially bought the car. One of the techs gave a heads up while I was having a few things done to it that the compression rods looked worn. I no longer have the discount there as i am not an employee anymore, I may return there and just bite to bullet to have them diagnose and potentially fix it.
