AC issue

For some reason my Ac doesn't work when the outside temp is above 80 degrees. Under 80 I can hear the ac compressor kick on. Anyone have any insight?

New condenser
AC charge full
outside temp gauge works

Have you followed the troubleshooting steps in the FSM?

Possible defective pressure sensor switch

Look up the specs for the AC clutch gap, take a feeler gauge, and see if it's within specs. I had similar problem with my Volvo's AC system. When the system got too hot the gap would get bigger, which caused the compressor to turn off. Sometimes you can just take the clutch off and reshim it, but most mechanics or dealership will probably sell you a new compressor.

I fixed the Volvo with some zip ties and RockAuto magnets to close the gap, lol.
