So i have a problem A/T light is flashing i turn the car on drive and about 20 seconds later it goes into failsafe mode... i understand my problem i have to replace the valve body called dealer told me 1550 to fix!! So my question is should i just buy a used transmision seen a few online for 800. I called a trans shop that told me they will install for 500 with fluids.... so its 200$ cheaper? Is the extra work worth saving $200?

What sort of warranty do you get if you buy the used trans?

Will the dealer offer a warranty?

If you're new to the car scene I was wondering why you bought a car that needs a new transmission already? Did you get it for a great price?

In that case, I'd take the dealership. I assume there will be some sort of warranty with their repair.

Makes sense to me. Might as well pay a bit more to let the experts (cough, cough) do it right the first time.

It could just be the contacts on the valve body. I think they're are a few videos out there showing how to fix it with some solder.
