Had my rack and pinion replaced a week or so ago. Yesterday I hear a scraping noise while backing out of the driveway. There appear to be 2 plastic shields under the front of the car. The one that was scraping is towards the rear and looks like it would need to be removed in order to access the rack and pinion. It was hanging by 1 plastic pin/clip. I zip tied it temporarily but want to replace the pins. Two questions: first, what exactly are these "pins" called and are they a specific style/size 2) how many should there be for this particular shield?

If you're refering to those pins we have thruout our cars they're called push pins, available at most auto parts stores or the stealership! Coupe under covers are held in my bolts, odd they switched to pins on sedans...probably newer models.

Dealership wants $5 a pop. Couldn't find any in local parts stores so I called my shop and they'll take care of it Monday. Till then my McGyver zip ties will have to do.

Wish I'd invented zip ties! Before zip ties we had wire hangers, that's what held up the exhaust system on my first car so I could get it home...Gary
