Horn works only if steering wheel is turned 90 degrees?
Hi all,
A horn in my Infinity G35 2006 works only if I turn a steering wheel 90 degrees or more clockwise. No sound in other positions like in the center.
A mechanic told me that some coil need to be replaced in a steering wheel column for $300.
Could you please comment on this problem? Thank you.

Yes, could very well be your "spiral cable" which is what allows you to turn the wheel left and right for 11 years while still maintaining electrical connections to the switches in the steering wheel - audio system controls, cruise control, horn, and importantly, airbag. I've never had it done but price seems about right...
