"Again, someone out there has a key to your car and the used car guys should understand that"

And not to be too paranoid, but if they have a key they could "borrow" your car! If they have a remote it makes it easier to find yours. Am I paranoid?

One thing you should definitely consider. When you get another key(s), get the dealer to clear the car's ECU. Then have them reteach the keys you have. That will "bump" the other key(s) out of the system. Even though they came with the car, if someone tries to use them, the car will not respond. A good idea IMO.

dup keys

According to my manual, if you have a second key made, you have to bring in all your keys so they can be programmed together. So if you have new key made the old key floating around won't start the car anymore.
