Oem Coupe mid pipe is a direct bolt on, the oem Z mid pipe is not since it's too short. You can have a muffler shop make it longer, but G owner's in general have a adversion to doing that.

In the front you might need the spacers. Clearance to the suspension will likely be tight. Rear is totally a non issue for you.

Whew, let me tell you about my prayers earlier today. With my 19x8.5s with a +38 offset and 245/40/19s, there is about a quarter inch of clearance in the front to the spindle arm (errr, whatever its called), that was a damn close call....rear on the other hand....wow that's a lot of room!

Where did you get your 5mm spacers? I have a set of 18" Moda R6s from my Maxima with 245/40s on them that I want to use on my G35X. The rims on the car are 45mm and so are the Modas. But I was thinking of 5mm spacers just in case.

As you might imagine, since it was put on my car, I'm aware of the difference. I had no AVersion to doing that, since it was underneath my car and about a hundy cheaper than the coupe midpipe.

I guess I'm out of touch with G owners in general - I must've missed the referendum on this

Why not go with 245/40/18. Tires are choices are more abundant and the ride quality should not be too affected.

New G Games 77s are on!

As promised, here is a picture of my newly installed G Games 77s (made by Rays) on my 05 Sedan. The wheels are 18x8.5 with a 45mm offset front and rear. I am using 245/45/18 tires. Just for reference the 8.5 wheel with a 45mm offset will require the use of a H&R 5mm spacer in the front to have a better margin of clearance between the tire and the strut support on the suspension. I did not have to change the wheels studs, the stock studs are well within H&R's spec's.

I know many have questioned the use of 245/45's on the sedan. I am very happy I did not go with shorter 245/40's. The 45's help fill the wheel well up much nicer than the 40's. By using a 8.5 wide wheels the difference in diameters between the 45's and 40's (on a 8" wheel) is only .025". After a 30 minute "test drive" two things are very clear, ride quality has not changed and the handling is vastly improved over the stock 17's

Cool to see that the 5mm spacer was enough. I have 45mm offset Moda R6s from my 03 Maxima that I was hoping to use on the G. The rims are 18x8 with 245/40s on them. Looks like they should fit. BTW, where did you pick up the 5mm spacers?

Any chance we can get a slightly angled picture from the front and/or rear which shows how far the wheels stick out? You can't really tell what effect the offset and spacers have on the overall look from the existing picture.

I got the spacers from Options Auto Salon.

Just an update, as it turns out I have taken the spacers off. The 45mm offset is fine. I was totally shocked! There is plenty of room between the wheel/tire and the suspension. Here is a picture without the spacers.

Those wheels complement your car very well. Its odd how some 18s look so tiny on our cars, yet others look perfect.

Awesome news!! The 18s are going on this weekend. I can't wait to see how they look. I hope the Modas look good on the G. I know they aren't fancy or anything, but I am a fan of the classic 5 spoke wheel design. Plus, the bright silver finish of the Modas matches the bright finish of the 05 wheels (which look great against DG).
