Any one having this issue where accelerating casually on a slightly upgrade hills and when speed reach 40 mph and under 50 mph the car suddenly shift in & out of the fitth gear and makes a big shake.

My Thousand Oaks dealer is been giving me the run a run with their famous line of if you can't duplicate it while test driving with my tech, we can not trouboleshoot it. Coming from the IT back ground I can understand but not even taking you time to look at it, its unacceptable. I don't see any of BMW or Mercedes dealership rejecting customer complaint.

 

I have had it happen to me on several occassions. Your description of the problem is on target. It feels like it wants to down shift, and in the middle of the down shift goes back to 5th. I was going to take it to the dealer, but have not had time. I guess I had better make the time. I have not done an ECU reset. I wonder if that may clear things up?

 

What year cars do you have?

Wasn't there a TCU reflash for some cars...Or am I mistaken?

 

My is a 2004 Auto Sedan with Premium and Sports package.

 

I have an 04 sedan with auto trans. Lately, every now and then, the trans seems to get confused , maybe do a momentary search for another gear, almost like a motion interruption. I do not hear any loud sounds, my mileage is the same but I have noticed it several times lately? The trans fluid is full. Any ideas?

 

I have a 2003.5 with 40K miles ....Don't know about the reflash.
