Thumbs up Put down a deposit today...

on a 2005 G35X. Lakeshore Slate w/ stone interior; premium C package, splash guards, and trunk mat. The car had actually just rolled off of the delivery truck and is covered in plastic, inside and out. Kudos to Infinity for packing them well for shipment! I don't think I can pick it up until next week do to some personal committments, but w/ the cash down I will get it as soon as I can.

Thanks to everyone here for all the great info. I have been visiting for a month or so, and this seems like a very friendly and helpful community. Hope I can contribute...

As a brief background, I had my heart set on the TL. Living in Colorado, I really wanted AWD, but have had two FWDs and have not had much trouble. But my commute is now 95% highway time, and when the roads are cold w/ icy patches the AWD is great (my wife has a 2004 XC70, and in most snowy situations I prefer it to my Z71 Tahoe w/ BFGs). Anyways, I drove them both twice (the 6mt on the TL). I do find the TL more "fun" to drive, and definitely prefer the interior, but the handling and stability of the G is as good as any car I have ever been in. Much better turning radius. Even though the cars look very different, I love them both. I like the TL's "edginess", but the swooping lines of the G (especially the front fenders) are seductive. I drove the G pretty aggressively on my second run, and it is amazing. After some general negotiating, the numbers on the G were way better, despite it costing 1500 more.

Anyways, I will try to post some pics when I get it. Thanks again everyone.

Congratulations. Next week will mark my first anniversary owning the G35X. It has never disappointed me or been dull. Just the opposite - it has been a blast!

I took my 05 X home in a snowstorm and the all wheel drive performed flawlessly. It does make you forget you are driving in snow though. Not a bad thing, but you have to watch out for the other idiots out there. BTW, enjoy the X. Mine only has 325 miles on it, so I'm still breaking it in.
