How does the aero package on the 05 sedan look in person?

I am planning on getting an 05 6MT sedan in Diamond Graphite. There are two identical cars that I can get, but one has the aero package (rear spoiler and side air defusers), the other doesn't. My dealer has to trade for the car, so I haven't seen one with the aero package in person(just pictures).

Has anyone seen the aero package in person? How does it look? It's a $550 option.

 

Hey Maller....I have an 05 DG Sedan with the Aero package and think it looks great! You can look in my pics section to see the car with the package.

 

The "factory Aero Package" is just the Spolier and rear defusers (something you can't see) Basically all your adding is the spoiler. LOL The "full Aero Kit" will be Avail. in April. The splash guards and front lip spoiler. Grubbs has both of the now.. the front spoiler is 2-4 week delivery...

 

Here's my black '05 with Sport and Aero packages. I'm really dying to add the front lip spoiler and splash guards, once they're available...

 

My 05 came with the splash guards, and it's a NON AERO PACKAGE ride. I guess it pays to wait. (sorry guys, no low blows intended). I too wondered about the aero package. Sounds like it's a spoiler and some fancy plastic under the car. No thanks. Chin spoiler for sure though.

 

Your car looks great Jake!! The black is smooth. I had a hard time deciding between the black and DG. It basically came down to availabilty.

I washed/waxed it for the first time this weekend and learned quite a few lessons about cleaning black cars. I also discovered that the Infiniti paint is CRAP. 1800 miles and my car has vicious paint chips all over the place, down to the metal in some places. I dread what this car will look like by 10k.

Im thinking about filing a complaint, it's pretty absurd. This car has more paint chips after 1800 miles than my bimmer or mitsu did after 30k miles. Sigh.

 

I have experienced the same problem with my car as well. It has been sad! Honestly, my 4 year old Lexus did not have as many chips as my G already has....and they travel down the same roads. Such is life! At least the black is easy to touch up.

 

I have it, but I would not buy it again. It came with the car so I didn't complain. Also when you have your dealership trade cars, they are going to be handling your new car even more, either driving it from 1 dealership to the other or towing it on a truck...so make sure that doesn't bug you, then decide.

What do you use for touch up? (do you have a link?) I want to start touching up and sealing the chips I have ASAP before they have a chance to get any worse.

 

if you get the side sills with an aero body, you cannot install the mud guards.

Hey bud...I use syringe and touch-up paint. The syringe allows you to only use a very sparse amount of paint and fill in ONLY the rock chip. I find it is the most effective way to repair a rock chip.

I have also been wanting to try the touch-up pen that someone on here mentioned.

It seems like some colors chip more than others. My Caribbean Blue has 4000 miles now and nary a chip, but I do have a clear bra. From what I've heard, black and red are the worst "chippers".
