Yeah, it is definately the worst dipstick design I have ever seen! It's bad enough that it is way down there and hard to see and insert but the stupid dipstick itself is too flexible. Why don't they make it a little stiffer so it would be easier to insert. (Alright, get your mind out of the gutter! 
)

That is a good idea, what type of paint did he use, is it easy to remove all the oily residue?
Sure is a lot easier to see where to insert, especially in dim light.
